APPEARANCE
This is a medium-aged cheese with a compact, smooth-textured paste of ivory-yellow color. It has a thin, smooth rind that protects its interior. The flavor is delicate and slightly sweet, accompanied by a soft, pleasant aroma. As it matures, it develops greater complexity while maintaining its mild and friendly character.
USE
Gouda is an extremely versatile cheese. It can be served on cheese boards, in cubes or slices, and is excellent for sandwiches and snacks. Its moderate meltability makes it perfect for gratin dishes, quiches, and creamy sauces.
It also pairs wonderfully with fresh salads, breads, and fruits, making it suitable for everyday enjoyment as well as special occasions.
